Senior Bank
Read the action steps below. When you are ready, you may search the senior bank directory.
Each year outstanding seniors are invited to be part of the Senior Bank program. Through the Senior Bank directory, students who wish to hear another student's perspective on the majors they are considering may contact through e-mail a senior who is about to graduate in that major.
In order to get the most from your e-mail interview please consider the following recommendations:
Prepare a list of questions to include in your e-mail. Possible questions include:
- How did you decide to declare your major?
- What classes do you enjoy?
- What are your career plans?
Do not include a long list of questions in your initial e-mail. Make it short and ask your Senior Bank contact if you can e-mail again in the future with additional questions.
Use a subject line that lets your Senior Bank contact know what the e-mail is about. Something like "Senior Bank question" will alert your contact to the purpose of the e-mail.
Give your contact adequate time to reply to your message. Be aware of the fact that these students are juggling a heavy schedule and want to dedicate enough time to craft an informative response to your questions, which takes time.
Always follow up with a Thank You e-mail.
See your advisor after using Senior Bank for questions about declaring a major.
